Default Where Can You Store Firearems in Calgary?

I don't want to store firearms/ammo in the house. Where in Calgary or nearby are there facilities for rifle storage?

Default A safe?

If you can't have them in the house where would be a good place? When you need one it is usually before light and nothing is open. Are you just a target shooter or what?

I'd just buy a good safe and keep them in your house.

X2

It is way to costly and risky NOT storing them at your residence IMHO.

An untrustworthy roommate and/or frequent long absences away from home (away for work, etc) is all I can hypothesize.

The Shooting Edge will store for full members. If there's a spousal or similar security (mental health, troubled angry teen, etc) concern the police will even do it, but that's obviously not to be done for frequent pick-up and drop off.

I'm inclined to blame a spouse . . . simply because I had a spouse who absolutely forbid me to have firearms in the house.

Hindsight being 20/20 . . . I suspect I know why that was the case.

Default I NEVER "Store" guns

that way the "Safe Storage" laws don't apply

I keep my guns in locations:

on display

for cleaning

ready for predator control

for personal security from any thing that my bring harm into my home

but I NEVER have guns in "Storage"

nanuk, what do you do with those guns when you're not in the house?
If they're still lying around 'being cleaned', who'se doing the cleaning?
IMO, you need to research the storage regs more thoroughly.

Hey, vote Lib or Dipper in the election, I'm sure that mandatory public arms repositories are in their "master plan". That or a scrap metal yard.I'm sure they wouldn't charge you a user fee.........unless you count your liberty, freedoms, and tax dollars. They would have a place for you to store your shootin' irons. Election in the air,I just couldn't resist.

Think of the legal ramifications of storing a "stranger's gun".

I understand that certain gangs have a rent a gun program.

Maybe you should contact sum of the boyz to store your gun for you.

Should probably have this sorted out before you buy one. As far as I am concerned, there is ONLY one place that I would store my guns.
Where I sleep
