Default Sako carbonlight

Has anyone seen one or have one. I see they are about 4grand. What is the general feel regarding this as the offered calibres are limited.

It's a finnlight in a carbon fibre stock - nice rifles, but much over priced in my opinion. I handled one at magnum gun in lloydminster, and there is a used 308 on CGN.

I figured the price tag is a little steep.

There is no way that I would pay that much for a factory Sako.

Double the price of a decent custom. Same price as a NULA but it's not a NULA. Not much under the price of MOA or gunwerks. I foresee a short production run.

A buddy of mine from Saskatchewan has one chambered in .300 Win Mag.

It's painful to shoot, and he's wrapped it in camo tape to "protect the carbon finish".

He also topped it with a big Nightforce scope, eliminating alot of the weight savings the rifle offers.

i find that a good stock can help with making sure the balance of the rifle is nice, but once balance is achieved, how light do you really need to go? is 12 ounces worth that much money? the lighter the rifle the more your heartbeat is going to jiggle it and the wind gusts jostle it. get a lighter jacket or backpack instead and achieve the same result for lightweight.

Get anT3 and drop it in a wildcat. Spend the other $2500plus on optics and ammo.

For less then half the price you can get a Kimber Montana, the exact same weight, 2.4 kilos or 5 lbs 20z (short action)

Had the chance to handle a used one in Medicine Hat on the used rack last year, chambered IIRC in 7-08. Nice fit and finish, well balanced but very overpriced in my opinion.

For the same money you could (as someone else said) drop a Tikka T3 into a good aftermarket stock and put some high end glass on it for the same investment. And likely have a rifle that shot as accurately.
