Default Damn why is it so addicting???

I have been shooting most of my life, mostly when at friends cottages, camping etc, but got the bug to buy my own firearm last year and that's when it started.

10 months later I'm up to 8 firearms, with another on the way.

For some reason or another I just keep thinking I need a particular gun for a particular task.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I'm not the only one with this addiction

I have bought and sold well over a hundred firearms in the past 40 years, probably closer to two hundred, mostly just to try something different and new. I cut down the number of firearms pretty significantly before my retirement, but some people still say that I have too many.

When you get in to triple digits, just call it 'inventory'. It doesn't sound as bad.

The only bad thing about this addiction is there is no known cure. Just like your typical addict the only solution for your next fix is to buy another gun.

No self righteousness intended. I've never caught the itch. I have 1 shotgun. 1 rifle and a bow. Would like to add a .22 and perhaps a little larger calibre. So far couldn't be bothered. The ole .270 sure gets a workout though.

just wait until you start running out of reasons for an extra gun. you might have an issue when someone asks why you just bought another coyote gun and you justify it as being "the backup mid range late fall slightly windy coyote gun"

You'll always remember the first one you ever had. Then you'll want as many as you get your hands on, then you'll move from quantity to perhaps a few but of higher quality, then settle in with a single one than just fits.oh sure there will be some lightweights, sporty models, the occasional heavyweight, some short and loud ones, and some that were simply a result of an opportunity.
Come to think of it it sounds more a my dating life.

I was talking with a buddy last night. It came up that there was a tipping point - where we would rather hang out at the gun store rather than the Nudie bar

It just happens

Meh... comfy is good, Good Friday is good, startin a rig move on the Emmerson Creek road at 10pm, my boys are still workin so that's good as well, life is good?? I cant complain..

Shooting is good as well, I can see why , I don't do a lot of gong or paper, love my skeets, and some plinking with the daughter and son when we get out west.

Always lookin for a good deal on a new piece ( gun that is..)

I pretty much have the caliber spectrum covered, .22, .40, .44 mag, .270, .308, .45-70, 7.62x39, and 12 gauge. I would still like to add a 7.62x54r, 300 WMU, 9mm, 20g and .22wmr.

And I mean for each single action caliber in the vault, one needs a matched caliber semi right?

My wife already knows my 40th birthday present to myself will be a long barreled 25-45 sharps AR in stainless, so I guess that means a mini 14 will be required too, gotta have a .223....
