Arrow 'Do The Ride Thing'

.

Triumph 'Scrambler'

Yup, with this warmer weather we've been having, I got motorcycles on my mind again . But for this riding season, I just may change my ride to something simpler, more basic, more true 'motorcycle'. I'm thinking of going Retro / Old School ... back to my roots.

Here's some inspiration for you ... "Do The Ride Thing"; https://vimeo.com/72733609

Keep the rubber side down,

Mac

I'm liking the Bonneville and Scrambler models that Triumph is putting out these days, and the new Honda CB1100A has also caught my eye . . .

My dad had a Vincent Black Shadow that he wrote off in 53 on a snow plow blade in Saskatchewan back when they used to store the plows on the shoulder in the summertime

My first new bike was a 1976 CB500T

Ahhhh yes ... the good ol' Honda CB's of the day! My riding buddy back then had one almost just like it

My first two cylinder bike was a 1971 Honda CL450 Scrambler . . .

In the summer of '72 I rode from southern Ontario to Vancouver Island and back again on that bike, with nothing but a luggage rack on the back to hold everything (tent, sleeping bag, clothes, tools, etc.) ... which made for a rather large backrest

Them were the days!

Mac

I have a few bikes too.

CBR 1000
CBR 600
CBR 125
Honda Fury

Don't own a Harley but rent a StreetGlide numerous times throughout the season.

Love Indian and Victory... just about opted for a Victory Highball over the Fury but I just can't get over Polaris. That being said, I've heard good things and bad about both Indian/Victory.

I've got my Harley. I'm going old school just cause I can. I'm building an 81 Rd 350lc. Going to put a little smoke in the air.

Nice bike - I almost got a ST1100 myself, but went for Triumph's version of the sport-touring bike instead. I was fortunate enough to take my ST1050 on a 9,000 km road trip with it a couple of summers ago.

I had no idea Ducati made a scrambler. It must be something new ... I'll have to check it out!

Thanks for the heads-up,

Mac
