I do not disagree with many of the posts about Trump being completely unreliable for other countries to trust. That said, his job is to do what is best for his country, if that involves screwing us over, and everyone else too, that is what he is going to do. We could use a leader with a whole bunch more backbone and a Canada centric focus. The idiot globalists we have in power now are running the country into the ground, all in the interest of looking good on the world stage.

I am not a Trump fan but you cannot argue with the results he has got. He has tried to drain the festering swamp that is Washington and has suffered endless grief because of it. He has reduced the U.S. presence in many war zones, left some completely, and not got into any new ones, even with Covid, the economy is in far better shape than when he took over. Employment was at all time highs and wages were increasing for the every day Joe. He swept away a ton of regulation that was choking U.S. industry, only to line the pockets of special interest groups. He has managed to at least make a dent in illegal immigration, despite all the hooting and hollering. All in, he has done a remarkable amount of work in 3 years, despite HUGE push back from the self interest Left wingers.

When people are more concerned about twitter tweets over actual accomplishments, well that’s part of the problem right there.

Agree 100%. Didn't know there were so many Turd supporters and lefties around here but it's obvious who they are. The same Turd who just shoved the OIC down out throats.They must get all their news from CBC and CNN.

It’s not a binary choice. I can be angry about the OIC but agree with another policy. I can think one or two of Trump’s policies are good but disagree with the rest. I can even agree with a goal but object to the means used to attain it sometimes. Think of words like nuance or pragmatism, you will be a better person for it.

This knee jerk “he’s not on my team” attitude is lazy and unhealthy for democracy.

I'm pretty sure there are very few Trudeau supporters in the forum and likely none on this thread.

To immediately yell "turd supporter" or "liberal" every time anyone expresses an opinion you don't agree with is ridiculous and childish.

Why don't you provide a reason why you don't agree, contribute to a discussion instead of hurling insults over the fence and contributing nothing of substance?

You may be surprised to hear I agree with 90% of Dean's post.

Trump has removed soldiers out of many places they should not have been in the first place - I have said that before. Problem is he threw an ally under the bus and destroyed America's reputation in the process.

Not withstanding the effects of Covid on the economy, he has done a good job overall, certainly unremarkable in most areas, but a good job nevertheless compared to other administrations - I have outlined this in a number of previous threads.

And he has delivered the lowest unemployment rates in many many years - 100% correct. I have nothing to say negative about that - he delivered on that promise.

He has also put his foot down on foreign companies who kill American jobs in a few different way - which will benefit the US for a long time. I love that.

He certainly has done many things (or had the right intention) on many other issues.

But he's also done, said so many stupid things it's unbelievable. But that's not the point here.

And ...

I also can't blame him for doing what he did on this trade thing, because he did it for the best interests of his country - but it was slimy and greasy. It was. There is no other way to describe it. Just because I don't question his motives doesn't mean what he does isn't underhanded and untrustworthy.
