Diversity means getting a deer with both a rifle and a bow, and still having time for shotgunning waterfowl in the same week!!
That's diversity.
If football coaches were wearing it maybe it meant they were a good team both when it came to the run or the pass??

Clearly the CFL is looking for Federal subsidization.

I think it's the CFL's reaction to racial attacks going on in the US....wasn't it in reaction to a shooting?

It celebrates the diversity of the people that are part of the league and have been through its history.
https://www.cfl.ca/dis/
This League has a longstanding tradition of welcoming players, people, from all types of backgrounds. Signed the first black QB. Signed the first openly gay player. Each team had a person they honoured. Esks had Joey Moss, Riders had a player of Metis decent, etc...
Think they did it last year too. Great thing they are doing IMO.
Go Riders!

I noticed that while watching the Stamps / Riders game yesterday, and beside the score / stats, the "scoreboard" said "Diversity is our strength", and I was wondering what Trudeau was up to now.

Trump's comments in post above I believe, related to a football player that was killed by a drunk driver.

This was in 2017:
"The Lions were set to meet the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday in a regular-season game that seemed unimportant in the shadow of tragic events that had occurred in Charlottesville, Va. During a hateful and violent march led by white supremacists, an act of domestic terrorism killed 32-year-old counter-protester Heather Heyer and seriously injured many others.
Many prominent athletes forcefully rebuked the disturbing scene of neo-Nazis and KKK members marching through the streets of Charlottesville — and of U.S. president Donald Trump’s initial and then later repeated assertion that there were many sides to blame for the tragic violence that occurred. However, no major American professional sports league made an official statement in the immediate aftermath.
Meanwhile, the CFL decided that if it has any platform at all, it had to use it,"
"The Diversity is Strength shirts were initially created for the league’s Canada 150 campaign to be launched later in the season. When the league got the okay from both teams, they flew a batch with a league employee from Hamilton to Saskatchewan in time for Sunday’s game"
