2018 Mule Deer.
On a priority 6 I got drawn in a zone I've have seen some big ones over the years. I had all of the hunting season off. So I hauled my fifth wheel up and set up camp. Opening week went by with no big ones being spotted. Lots of deer, moose and elk. Week 2 comes around and on Wednesday morning I set out. First light I see a large framed deer of in the distance. When it gets light enough I see a big 3x2. Not what I'm looking for. 8:30 I see a deer coming across the flats heading towards some does. Looks pretty good long ways away. Looking better as he's getting closer. I could easily see a big 4x4 with a spread just outside his ears. I made my way over to the does that are now 250 yards away. Minutes later he shows up in a clearing at 275 yards. 1 double lung shot and it was over. 10 ft. from the trail we could drive on. Gross is 178"
