Good spring fishing locations

Good day all, I am still quite new to Alberta and i was hoping that everyone would have some opinions on good locations to go fishing. I live in the edmonton Area but am not shy to travel a ways for some good fishing.

The Saskatchewan river right in Edmonton is a great spot.

No fly fishing spend more time in the trees then fishing. Really i am set up to fish for anything trout perch walleye whites. Looking for some brook trout but not sure whats open or where would be a good spot.

I fish there in the north sask its been good so far.. My buddy got spooled one night by what we thing would have been a sturgeon as his line was going up stream.
