Default Mule Deer in WMU 248

I have been wanting to go for Mule deer with my bow around where I live west of Edmonton but haven't had much chance to get out this year. Now that it's rifle season there for Mule only with a draw, I was wondering if anyone knows of any places in WMU 248 where a guy with a bow could find some Mule deer.

I know a few spot where mule deer hang out...mostly does and small bucks but all on private property and they aren't giving any more permission.

Mule deer in 248 are spotty.

Yeah, that's what I figured by looking at some maps. Figured it was worth a shot to ask. I'll just have to make more time earlier next year further west. Thanks.

I will trade you the muley spot where i've been chasing a few crankers for 2 years if you put a 200" whitetail at 20 yards for me....Also, the weather can't be below zero as I don't like the cold.

Saw a giant of a mulie in 248 end of sept, even on a grazing lease. Came out every evening. I was concentrating on moose at the time. But, that's my plan for next season as I've never taken a mule deer, yet. If I told you I'd have to kill you, lol...... No, seriously

Check cut crop fields (peas, oats, wheat/barley) adjacent to cover near water. That's the ticket. Get in early and sit tight, things happen quickly. Althought I didn't need on this night a few years back, get yourself a fawn in distress call. AMAZING!

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to try that. And great pic.
Any particular/favorite fawn in distress calls that work best?
