If you can find a nice slow spot the Simonette River is a nice spot to fly fish for some rainbows.
They aren't the biggest but they make it up with the fight.
You might also try the Kakwa River just outside GP, I have never fished it but heard it can hide some treasures.
Hope this helps.

I spent all off last year in GP, I'd have to say my best river experience was at the Kakwa. The Grayling were after a PMD immitation. Grizzly country though, be careful.
I fished the Wapiti just south of town but never had a bite there.
To be completely honest, I had more fun on the lakes in that area.

The Kakwa is an unreal Grayling and Bull river.
There are some parts that don't get any fishing pressure.
Well worth the hike in and out.
Lots of bears.
Good luck.

Cutbank, Kakwa, and Sheep Creek near Grande Cache if you don't mind driving a bith further. Sheep Creek has tons of bulls.

I've heard that Redrock and Nose creeks are good but haven't been out to them yet. Also, the Torrens river by Two Lakes is at the top of my list for this year - cutthroats!

I've found some pools on the Kakwa where the grayling are amazing.
You'll also find Rocky Mountain Whitefish in Kakwa and its tributaries.

The Wapiti and Smoky are OK if you have a river boat to find the good pools, but hike-in access points are very limited.

As far as I'm aware, all streams and rivers in ES4 are closed until June 1 and they're usually high and muddy until late July so I wouldn't bother going before then.
