Default Places to fish just outside of calgary

I am heading out with a buddy, but we need a place no more than an hour out of Calgary. Open to fishing anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I've ice fished in Chestermere with ok luck, small to medium sized Jacks in there. Pine Coulee Reservoir is ridiculous for catch and release walleye, get a fish every cast. I've heard Chain Lakes and Spray lake is good. McGregor is ok for Jack and walleye in the channel/dam that feeds into it.

Welcome to the forum

Chestermere is closed until May 8th and the rest you mentioned are an hour and a half or more out of the city.

no offense but 3 out of the 5 lakes you mentioned are closed, might want to at least tell the guy. FYI: chestermere, pcr and mcgregor are closed right now. chain is probably sketchy ice and spray will still have good ice.
