Default Suggest Rings and Mount

My Zeiss Conquest 3X9-50mm will be in early next week. What rings and mounts do you guys suggest to keep the 50mm secure?

Depends on the rifle, but I like Leupold dual dovetails, or better yet Burris signature dual dovetails.

My prefered combination is Weaver base(s) with Leupold PRW rings. Weaver bases are as solid as any. The PRW rings are quite wide (improved friction grip) and have two screws on each side of each ring.

I always use Leupold or Burris steel rings and mounts.

Sometimes they cost a bit more but there is no point attaching several hundred dollars worth of scope to several hundred dollars worth of rifle using scotch tape and binder wire.

The weapon is a system... ammo... stock.... action... trigger... barrel... mounts... rings ...scope. You cheap it out and... performance suffers especially in the portion involved in aiming... buy the best and strongest you can afford.

Either a one-piece multiple ring assembly mounted to a picatinny rail in turn screwed onto the receiver, or a one-piece alphamount screwed directly onto the receiver.

Talley fixed rings or talley lightweights are fantastic rings. The fixed rings are a very solid mount as well as good looking. The light weights are the only aluminum mount that I will use. They are well made and are a one peice design, the ring and base are combined so it eliminates all error between ring and base. Google talley rings and check out the web site.

If you choose to use a weaver design, I would suggest ordering warne steel bases and using burris zee rings. Most weaver bases are aluminum I strongly prefer useing the steel warne bases and the zee rings are great rings.

I either use steel leupold mounts and rings,Talley rings on dovetails, or a picatinny rail and rings to match.

Thanks for the suggestions. It's being mounted on a brand new Browning ABolt. Cost isn't an issue. the last thing I need is a shoddy mount that's throwing my scope out with every bump I hit. Sounds like I can't lose with the weaver/leupold set up.

If I was going with the PRW rings, I would go with the matching Leupold bases.

I dont like the leupold rings that you have to "snap" over the scope tube. They give me the shudders when I pop them on.

The PRW's do "snap" over the tube as the split is not in the center..just slip a piece of paper in between during the instal.

Hard to go wrong with any of the talley products.

TPS alum 7075 rings in HRT (round top) or TSR (flat top). EGW one pice base (to help keep things aligned and bedded to receiver - to help keep things straight). Probably about $155/160 ish..

If your a steel person, Weaver bases Grand Slam steel and Burris signature rings or regular zee rings. Leupold PRW or QRW (but as mentioned earlier you have to snap them over and take some precautions.

Don't underestimate the value of lapping either.
