Default Speaking of US Gun Control... a great 7 minute speech

Bill Whittle seems to have a pretty good grasp... worth the listen.

That is likely the most intelligent speech that has been made in the U.S. Congress in quite some time. There were several faces that looked "dazed and confused" at the words they were hearing.

If the government was the only people with guns then this would be a perfect world where nothing bad ever happened.

Brilliant minds at work. Get your guns people, cause we the government may just want to commit genocide. By the way, if there is an armed uprising, we may have to commit genocide, cause you all got guns. It sounds very clear from that speech, that mass shootings are an acceptable consequence, and to survive, you will need to be armed.

Default Gun control

This is a very sensible analysis of murders in the states, cutting the horns off the gazelle makes makes it in an easier prey ,which is the same as being unable to carry for protection. As he states guns are a small part of the problem ,knives, hammers, feet and hands kill many many more and this is totally uncontrollable, politicians need to get their heads out of the sand ..Thanks Red for sharing this.

Except that a gazelle’s method of defence is speed. The horn is largely a sexual device. If you consider the male to female ratio, you’d see fewer males than females. It’s an absurd analogy, and as hunters we should not be so insulted.

And it was to be an anology, you’d you’d take away the predators stealth. Figure that one out.

You are correct that the gazelle's primary method of defense is not the horn - and that the main purpose of the horn is not defense. That is what makes the analogy all the more accurate.

Like the gazelle, the primary means of defense for the majority of society is our situational awareness, our use of cover / camouflage (blending with a group) to be less noticeable as prey, display of physical confidence / strength to make us look not worth the risk of attack, and ability to avoid an attack by retreating or diversion. The use of a firearm for self-defense is very much like the use of a gazelle's horn: a last resort when all other choices haven't worked.

Firearms, for many owners, are a tool which we use for hunting our own food, vermin control, and as part of any number of sports --- those are the primary uses. Making them illegal makes as much sense as making golf clubs, knives, axes, baseball bats, and hockey sticks illegal.

I don't know any civilian who would willingly choose to be in a position where they NEED a firearm for self-defense, and who haven't tried to put in place enough other safeguards so that they hopefully won't ever need to put that "horn" to use for other than what they bought it for. However, when all of the door-locks, and security cameras, and psychological checks, and "democratic" votes have failed --- and the criminals have busted in the door or the drones are flying the streets --- well, I think that a well-trained and well-armed citizen has the best chance of protecting themselves and their family, and their way of life.

Go watch it again. Then again, and again until it sinks in.
