Default Oil patch jobs

You guys know any drilling companies that will begin to hire again with the price of oil going up? Or am I asking this prematurely?

I have seen some listings in the area. To me the issue for a lot of people now is everyone wants a person with lots of expireance....and there is lots of people out there with lots of expireance. Good luck though..

If you want to go into the Service side, Canyon, CalFrac and STEP are all hiring.....or were.

With road bans on and the weather, activity has slowed. You probably stand a better chance this Fall...if oil gains some traction.

What kind of wage cuts did these jobs have? And what hours all be worked? The steel trades are pretty poor these days. Wage cuts plus scaled back work. Would not recommend trades to new workers

X2 the service side of the business is picking up, the orphan well association is really pushing oil companies to abandon all the orphan wells in the province which is around 1200 wells.

My son started working for precision well servicing. He's doing some kind of course to become a derrick hand. I'm gonna speculate that they're looking for guys because he started green as grass and in 3 months of roughnecking they're gonna make him a derrick man.

Honestly Type in Drilling Rig Companies and send your Resume into everyone of them.

For Pressure Service Companies. they are all hiring. Trican Canyon, STEP, Baker, Schlumberger, Calfrac etc.

Service Rigs are also hiring. Same as above for Drilling companies do a search on google then apply.

It might be a bit slower right now. But most companies will be hiring to be ready for when road bans go off.

Depending on what exactly you want to do will depend on where you should focus your efforts.

Default Cal Frac East Coast Job Fair

I see CalFrac is headed to the East Coast to recruit employees. I heard they just can't find enough people here even after hosting several job fairs, recruiting advertisements etc..

They better offer a lot more money and or a locked in term contract. All the Service Company's left a bad impression with their laid off workers last time.
They might squeek a few more workers but I think they will be hurting for a good workforce for some time to come.
Better to run with what you have and make due then try to hire based on a rush situation. Only to lay off at a hint of a slow down.
Customers are already waiting on equipment. Whats a another week or two.

I heard BJ advertising for Service hands this morning for Red Deer and Clairmont on the Red Deer Country Station. Haven't heard their name for quite a while.

Between CalFrac, STEP, Canyon and BJ there will be some competition for personnel. I hope it helps the wages for the guys that get back in.

Better yet buy shares in these companies. $70.00 oil May 2018.
Buy fracking companies.

Do you have 45 minutes.

Long run, looks ok. Money will need to be spent for new discovery. Services will pick up. About 7-12 months to $70.00 oil. Will people spend $$ on $140.00 Oil?? Last time happened in 2008. Greece plunged into the Abyss. Now Nations have gorged on debt.

I know alot of guys that got a call back after being laid off a while. They laughed and hung up on the offers. LOW Day rates, no bonuses, cut benefits and the new offer could not compete with the new 8-5 jobs these oil workers have found which also lets them be home everynight.

This is strange. I actually phoned them up the other only to be told that you have to have a class 1 license to apply. Trican on the other hand told me they are hiring green guys but haven't heard from them for a week after applying.

Also, I have had a couple service rigs out the last two weeks in different areas of the province and I will tell you that they are really struggling to find committed roughnecks.
