Default Training for her first deer hunt

Hi Folks!

I was lucky enough to get out this afternoon with my oldest daughter. She's just passed her Alberta Hunter Education Training and will be turning 12 this summer...both of which she's super-excited about because that means she can come with me deer hunting this coming fall....WOOOHOO!! With strong intent to make a clean kill this fall, she's been keen to work on improving her skills with a rifle...come along as she takes us on her Epic Buck Hunt - the rehearsal 1.0

https://youtu.be/cy8gCBFp8x8

Once we get her marksmanship & deer anatomy skills up to par, we'll start working on her stalking skills and fieldcraft... As we were heading out to our practice spot, we were thrilled to bump a herd of 8 deer...Julia excitedly exclaimed "look Dad! Those are mule deer, right? Will we be hunting them this fall?" Sometimes I think I'm the luckiest guy alive.

Thanks for watching as well as your comments; we get a kick out of reading them together.

Cheers!

Brobee

That's awesome, my 11 yr old(12 in summer) daughter is taking the course at the end of the month. She has been tagging along since around age of 5. Very exciting, guess I'll be getting her a 243 to start with. All the best to Dad and Alberta's new hunter.

Hunting will never be the same again for you. It will be overwhelming the excitement that your daughter will bring to your hunting forays. The smile on both your faces and the joy in your hearts will be priceless. I can't think of any words that can describe it.

Wishing you and your daughter a prosperous season. Good luck.

That's some solid parenting.

Out of interest, what have you got her shooting?
