There’s going to be 3000000 people camping on the park boundary for this hunting season. 😝

I've seen that one.
He was on the hood of a dodge half ton.

Makes me think of Photo shop, just a little too much there. Even looks like he still has his lamb tips.

He has been filmed to death over the last few years. The best photographers have been able to keep the asphalt out of the photos (I’m talking professional photographers and am in no way denigrating the photo in this thread).
But he is definitely a toad.

He would definitely be up there in the books, I wonder why he hasn’t rubbed them off before they got that far back around. I wonder if it’s the lack of predators in the park? No worries about a hunter hiking up and shooting him, doesn’t have to worry about wolves that much...
Normally you see monster big horns with mass for days and they’re still rubbed back. They’re not in parks I don’t think though, usually harvested rams.

Yup he is still alive, I posted some pics of him a couple years ago on here, he is for sure a world record and he lives in Waterton park.

And to think, with half decent management of habitat, predators and unlicensed hunters/licences hunters we could see this caliber of sheep outside of parks....

Good to see he made the winter! We have hundreds of pictures of this guy since 2016 I believe was the first. Waterton probably has one of the highest predator populations in the province. So its amazing he has survived as long as he has. Chinooks sure help him i'm sure. This is the first time we have seen him down low in Spring. Although i'm sure he has been low before in Spring. He looks in good health as well for 13-14 years old.

My apologies to the sheep crew. I knew you boys would have probably already seen him.
It’s just a great example of the genetics we have here.
It turns out I’m going to be an empty nester next fall.... couple years early so I may pull a tag and try and earn my ram.
Can u imagine seeing that boy in your sights..? Wow
I got pics of that world record set when it was at a buddy’s house a few years ago. I think the one I posted is a little shy... but close.

Wild horse rams shouldn’t count for b&c. They basically live in a predator free “high fence”.

I could miss a ram like that off the bench at 50 yards on a calm day.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoy looking at every pic I see of this guy.

Yup...even a sheep nube like me could tell that he’d be legal...lol. Well, if he wasn’t in a park.

I don't think many sheep in Alberta that are legal get passed on by hunters.
As soon as they are legal they get shot. The handful that still make a true trophy are, therefor few and far between.
Better management in Alberta usually means draw only,as for habitat I think its probably not going to change much for the better. Don't even get me started on the Cougars, bears and wolves.

Could be wrong but dont think there is any management of habitat in parks and
no management of predators in parks yet they produce this type of ram so think your theory could be wrong.

We manage them kinda like deer or elk. We kill most of them to young to become decent rams, let alone great rams.
They do burns in Jasper park I’m pretty sure.

The old record came from Oyster Creek, same neighborhood. He'd be a ancient boy, but southern rams grow faster than their more North relatives.

I agree
But it’s in the states so they are allowed
Pope and young caters to Americans even more than boone and Crockett
