That could help make sure the inside is painted black at a certain height

I've been in some that have the windows angle down so the reflection off a moving window goes to the ground instead of towards the target animal. Dozens of ravens have busted me trying to crack a window 200 yards away.

If I build one I'm thinking about fixed windows and a small gun port for shooting out of. I think sliding windows will be frozen when needed most and swinging windows create too much movement.

I thought about this with mine and it might be a good idea, I may still do it. My original plan for the camo wasn't to keep animals from seeing it though, more to keep people from seeing it.

Yes, absolutely

That too - Although there is one spot where I am tempted to paint the rear outside wall of the blind with a bright color (orange?) so that hunters in the adjoining quarters know not to shoot in that direction.

I’ve used an office chair in one of my blinds and found them a little noisy. Check out cabelas 360 blind chairs if your patient you can find one on sale for around $50 . I’ve also put boat chairs and pedestals in blinds that worked fairly well.

Default frame Construction

Are you guys typically building your blinds out of 2"x4" or 2"x2". Also wondering what most of you do for stairs or ladder for your stands. Looking forward to building my first box blind this year.

The one I posted earlier was 2x4 built.

My little ladder I made out of 2x4's with hinges so it can be folded up for transport.

Time to flash up with great Thread, I built the base to my 4' X 6' box blind over the weekend will build the rest when I get some time. Wondering are you guys just running a 4' un supported roof, flat or slopped.

Thanks

Figure out how to bat proof it. I looked in mine a couple of days ago and there was at least 20 bats living in there. Piles of bat sh*t everywhere. Major clean up job required there before Nov 1.

I use goopy mud to paint my blinds.
Rub it in real hard and it will last many years and a very natural color.
