Saw two or three dead ones on the highway coming from GP yesterday, younger Bulls I'm guessing the rut is about to Peak in the next few days I've always found October 4th to be the peak of the rut almost.

Yup called in a nice bull last night to 30 yards and got him. Walked right through the bush at him and he didn't care.

I measure the 'peak of the rut' when bull moose start chasing my horses around the pasture.

Moose rut is usually same time every year ....depending on latitude.
So whenever they have been in rut in the past is when the rut is going to be.
Mother nature dictates this by amount of daylight and the fact the calves need to be born at a specific time in Spring to ensure surviving the following year.
Around the 53 parralel. The rut is usually starting in mid Sept with Bulls starting to demonstrate Glucking, raking etc.
I usually find last week of Sept till 3rd week of Oct. prime time.
