Those are cool. I saw a couple guys using similar homemade units about 25 years ago made out of a transport truck? inner tube (had to be about 60” dia inflated) circular cut piece of 3/4” plywood roped down tight on to the top of the inner tube plastic lawn chair bolted on to the plywood (with an umbrella from a patio set attached) and the transom mount electric motor mounted such that it was down thru a cut out in the floor of the plywood just in front of the seat where it was comfortable to steer from. I couldn’t believe how stable it was and they were cooking along pretty good on them too. Had a cooler mounted to it, rod holders and tackle box mounted also. Great for small waters and calmer days. They were fishing in a good sized pond about 20 acres in size. Very stealthy, very stable, very portable, and they honestly looked kind of fun to fish from! Cool to see a commercially made unit now after all these years! Thanks for posting.

A person fell off a homemade contraption, just like the one you described, at Crawling Valley. Body was recovered 2 days later. I heard the problem was that it kept tipping over when trying to get back on.
