Default zone 523

Has anyone hunting around zone 523? I have never been there and was drawn for moose. Only info I have is hunt around Kimiwan lake north of high prairie and suppose to be crown land. I'm looking for any info and help please.

I suggest you contact the office of MD of Big Lakes in High Prairie and order a land location map. Winagami is North of High Prairie. Kimiwan is North of Maclennan. There is crown land up there but you better know where it is and how to get to it before you start. MD of Smokey is also in 523. It's office is in Falher I think.

The Big Lakes County ownership map is free on their wedsite to view and download and it should cover a big chunk of that zone.

Don't bother, there's no moose in 523.

I have hunted 523 all of my life and I think that last year was the worst year for moose that I ever saw. On the plus side lots of opportunities for wolf.

Applying for a zone you've never been to is an AO crime. You'll be tried accordingly.

Lotsa places to kill a bull on public land in 523. Get some ownership maps, look over google earth and go for a walk. Access to private land is never too tough to get either.
