gasoline tanks at refiners are full to the rim. They will bury themselves selling at these prices. Kinda like opec and the current oil price, they will bury themselves too.
Hard to say but i am curious when one of these refiners will just push the pedal to the metal and put the squeeze on until one of the three in alberta shuts down. With looney toones lock downs and garbage margins, lack of demand there is room to squeeze some one out of business.

Hope you all like inflation...

Then add in everything that's been shut in. Looks like were about to re-live the 1970s...
Could be good for Alberta, if we can get or product to market.

It truly is a very weird price move. There seems to be a core resisting the increase yet a much larger number trying to push it through. I will drive a long ways to support the cheaper options, even if it costs more to travel than I save.

Really? 60 cents a gallon. That is amazing when it used to be close to 3 bucks before Covid. What area is that.

He said it is up 60 cents per gallon. Based on a US gallon, that is 15.8 cent/liter.
In comparison, my usual stop was up 4 cents/liter as of yesterday afternoon.

Petro Can in Lloyd was still 96.9 at 4:30 this afternoon, Super store was 106.9 at 9:30 this morning already, they have to get back the money they were LOOSING with everyone working from home and the rest of us not driving much.

Down a bit south of me but still northern MN a town called Aitkin. I was there first of November and paid 1.76 per gallon. It was close to that in other places. Filled up yesterday and it’s running 2.39. Spoke to my son today and their paying 2.39 now down around Minneapolis.

Who was paying 3.00 before covid? California maybe. Our fuel started going down four years ago. Last two years it bounced around 2.00.
It was the guy in charge here before Trump who proclaimed on television he “felt” we should be paying 5-6 dollars a gallon just like Europeans.
I fear that idea is coming back now.

We're paying 4.30 a U.S. gallon, up from 3.00 bucks less than 8 months ago.

That just isn’t right. Hate to hear that. As far as oil goes we became energy independent as they call it in the last 3 years. I would have thought with your resources up there you folks would be in a similar position.
No wonder all my float plane trips up there are as spendy as they are.
On that note a number of the flying services in Canada I use are or have upgraded fleet planes to turbo jets. With fuel prices like that I can see why.

Price increase seems to be backing off a little at a time. Costco has some locations back down to 95.9, there are lots more stations showing 103.9 and 100.9 than there were a couple of weeks ago. Hope it retreats all the way to where it started but oil is climbing so I am sure that will be the next excuse in the hopper. Still $4 Canadian a U.S. gallon, or $3 a gallon in U.S. dollars. Still better than Europe where it is 2.20- $2.50 Canadian a litre or $10 Canadian a U.S. gallon, which would be $7.80 U.S..
