Default Chip Lake Access

Hi fellas, I am planning to take my kids and niece and nephew out to Chip Lake this weekend.

Never fished it but have looked into access points. Looks like RR 110 and the Provincial Park on the North end are how to access the lake.

Is the RR 110 side doable in a 1/2 ton with 4x4 this year? Or is it best to go to the Provincial park side?

Any other tips for fishing this lake would be appreciated. Will be dead sticking on tip ups and jaw jackers, as well as minnow-tipped jigs on the rods.

PM me if you prefer. Thx.

Default Chip Lake Access

I feel like I am talking to myself on this thread...

Had a great time with the kids on Chip Lake yesterday.

Fished from 1-5pm. Bunch of flags, and the kids lost a few and landed a few. Big smiles all around, as it was a great way to spend a sunny windless day.

Access is either by the PP or by RR 110. About 4 inches of snow over 20 inches of ice.

Is there anything better than fishing with kids??

Way to get out! Access has been great at all local lakes with the minimal snow cover. Enough for traction, not enough to get stuck. :-)

Thanks Tim. Most fun I have had all winter.

On the long drive home my 5 year old looked sad, so I asked him what was the matter.

He replied that he was sad because he hoped that this fun day would never end.

Those kids
