Nope.. It took a bit but then a figured it out. It was Theron showing who exactly he is or was... Selfish, only cared about himself. He skated through his whole team to take that slide... Never was a fan....

That was a hell of a game though.

Great chances at both ends

All right, here is my revised prediction.

Regular season is done. For the trades that occurred (although, I would certainly find it amusing if Edmonton gave up two 2nd round picks Athanasiou's 2 points), the draft, and of course, the cup, the playoffs will go on.

My rational is thus:

-Everybody noticed that WrestleMania 33 just set a total subscriber record and it was performed with no fans. With nothing going on sports wise, whoever comes back first is going to make a fortune which will really help offset the fortune lost by cancelling play;

-NBC had the $4.4B Olympic contract, which have been postponed, and now have a two month hole to fill in July and August;

-NBC has the NHL TV rights in the USA; and,

-As summer hits NA, and this thing drags on, I suspect more and more people will become complacent/bored/tired/not care, and society will make a push for it.

Therefore, calling a 68 game roll back, which has Calgary playing Edmonton, playoffs in July and August, draft in September, and '20/'21 season kick off in October.

Kinda surprised a Flames fan would even want to see a playoff series. With the warm spate recently I'd think your players are out and about in more familiar surroundings for this time of year i.e. the golf course.

I guess I’m wondering if there will even be a season next fall . The models predict that there could be a fall spike in numbers of covid, before it subsides . Will fans be comfortable sitting elbow to elbow in November?

You are right. Saw an interview and this guy was saying people will have second thoughts on crowded sports events, movies and busy restaurants. I know I will be nervous. I don’t think the CFL will survive this due to them barely staying above water in a normal year

All it will take is one player to get sick end up in ICU and all sports will be done until there’s a cure. Might as well cancel your sports channels.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...draft-lottery/

Sounds like this thing is getting some traction. Summer hockey it is, as long as the health organizations give the go.
Flames and Jets in a best of 5. Should be a good break in series to kick things off.. No matter what a big ole ** will be hung on the cup winner and anything else, but all good. Will be some outdoor hockey watching on the deck in August and some day drinking me thinks.
Oilers play Blackhawks, will be a good match up as well..
Either way a best of 5 you better show up on time, as could be over quick if you sleep in.

In all reality only 8 teams have made the playoffs so far and the Flames or Oilers aren't 1 of them. Every year it is very easy to pick the best 8 team in the league and the worst 8 teams in the league. Where the waters get muddy is those 16 teams in the middle that are clawing tooth and nail to just into the playoffs. I think these 5 games series are going to be the most exciting and nerve racking hockey we have seen in a long time.

Well Hammer opted out but looks like they are ready for training camp. Guess I better think of a way to get a TV out on the deck for August.
Bring on them stinkin Jets.

If you have Telus you can put the Telus Optik app on an iPhone, bring a flat screen outside and plug the phone in the USB port on the TV...

Game day gents, normally I like to rip the Oilers and their fans, but tonight everyone enjoy it. We have all waited for a long time for this so let the games begin, and let the chirping continue once the play in round begins. Although I'm sure there will be some tonight anyways haha.
Will be interesting to see no fans hockey, and what they have lined up for a show.
Go Flames Go!!!

Sportsnet like always. Yeah mean nothing game but good to put the camp work to real game use. Maybe line juggling? Think goalies going to split the time

I have only seen a few minutes of the Leafs Habs game and not bad. Decent first impressions but still not near the same, but I will take it.

Watching the Leafs and Canadiens play in an empty arena....it's weird. Like watching Belarus playing Slovenia during the world cup in another time zone or something. Odd.

It really does change the game being in an empty arena.

Bessie! We gonna bet a bottle on the game for old times sake?

NHL is claiming they are saving the big show for Sat. But yeah not bad. Weird their is no fans but when they add the sounds you kinda forget about it. If they had had the games in The Panthers or Yotes barns they could have left the seats uncovered and you would never know the difference.
