Default Got my 1st double !

My buddy and I headed into the field @ 7:45am Friday, walked in about a KM, and set up the FoxPro Shockwave. The terrain is "wavey" hay & wheat fields, with some big pockets where dogs can hunt/hide undetected.

I knew there was at least 6 coyotes that lived on/around this property, and within 60 seconds of stopping we saw 2. One way off (1000+ meters) to the southwest, and one directly south a bit less than 1000m (~750m).

We discussed a call list, and let it play... About a minute later, a group of 4 different coyotes came tearing into our shooting lane barely 300m away. I shouldered my rifle, slid the safety forward, picked 1 of 3 targets I had, and squeezed.

<Dave - "you got him... He's jumping around, wait, no, he's down."

Reloaded, got the scope on a second dog, squeezed off, but felt like I missed. Dave confirmed it, and I looked over the scope to see him running like a bat-outta-hell. Then I took a quick look around to confirm my suspicions that they all took off, but no. One was still standing there @ ~150m, almost dazed by the gunfire.

One more shot, and she crumpled like a paper bag... I/we were pretty stoked. Especially since it was my partners 1st time hunting coyotes. I basically had to drag him out, but I think I got him hooked !

Good for you, nice shooting.
Surprised you didn't get a 'scope eye', those glasses must get in the way...

Took another female from the same spot today, well, 200m west... One less coyote-pup factory !

Blew thru both shoulders (2 holes), I'll see the full extent of the damage tomorrow when I skin her out.

Younger song-dog about 30-35 lbs, teeth were still all white & pristine...

Nice work!
I have to say I'm in the same boat as your buddy. I wasn't sold that coyote hunting could be all that fun. Boy was I wrong. Good thread and congrats!

Glasses are likely a pain to ware , but look how well they worked ...

yotes are probably laughing , thinking ... that ain't a hunter , it's just a funny guy .

on a different note .... I'm not quite sure if you're trying to be funny , or if/why you feel the need to hide your face .

I guess, either way , there's 3 less dogs out there .
