Default Sheep Hunting Video ?

I watched a video on You Tube today that I think Alberta Sheep Hunters may find interesting. It is entitled Massive Alberta Bighorn With Two Perfect Shots.

A couple of things I was wondering about Is who fired the shot I,m thinking the footage of the guy fooling around with the sticks and so on was done after the Ram was down.If you,re filming a hunting video you do not take the camera off the game until the shooting is over. Also the camera man is from SK.I think what is he doing with a rifle following around some Treaty Hunters in AB.?

This Saskatchewan angle is interesting.

I do feel like our current FN hunting rights could use a serious rewrite but
to call these guys clowns or sack of **** is unwarranted. The young fella (shooter) is not breaking any laws. He makes a nice first shot and is cognisant enough to wait for the ram to clear the herd before he takes his second shot.
The shooter also mentions something about getting some good meat.
I too am frustrated with this video but the blame should be directed towards
the government not a young guy who took his first ram.

Open road I respectfully disagree. The second this went up on YouTube and given the context I remain committed to my comments and my characterization of them.

Hey I get it. I'm no fan of these guys, the video or how and when they hunt sheep. Just trying to steer our frustration in a direction that could help. Easy to
sit on our phone trash the hunters go to bed and forget about it. Tomorow we read about the latest overpriced camo jacket and nothing changes. If you haven't already write some letters to you're MLA, join an organization such as WSF voice you're concerns. Believe me this stuff drives me crazy.

Not very smart to broad cast it. It's almost like rubbing salt in a wound but some times they do it on purpose just to get a rise out of there more distant relatives.

while i dont agree with it, the man exercised his birth given right and broke no laws. hard to argue with that imo. Sucks for sure that we all put in so much time for that opportunity and may never have it, but that is the way the system is setup and there will be no changing it.

That was hard to watch... ZERO respect for the 'outfitter'.
I can't and never will support that.

Contrary to what they think, it is possible within the current legal framework. Million of dollars would be needed for legal fees. How many here would contribute?
I would for one, and know many others that would as well.

Please elaborate - pm is OK if preferred...

As for the subject of this thread, it is quite suspicious as for illegal outfitting. Aiding and abetting as it were.
I do hope Alberta's CO's have been requested to have a boo...

Cheers,
Nog

I personally know the Outfitter who posted the hunt on youtube and can only say that every dealing I have had with him is always professional. He does outfit in both Saskatchewan and Alberta and runs top notch outfits. I don't know much about this sheep hunt. I too found myself scratching my head a bit after watching it but until I actually talk to him I have to believe that this hunt was legal in every aspect.

A meat hunter would have taken a couple ewes or one of those skinny horned halfcurls. Just what i want to eat is a late november rutted up 9 yr old ram. yummy
