Default 2016 Foothills Elk Hunt Video.

Brand new episode of a elk hunt, where Steve harvests his first elk! This was during our 8 day elk hunting trip into the foothills in late October. . A very good and long time friend, Aaron Symonds met up with us on day 6 to get the job done. This is a episode you don't want to miss if you like seeing 200-300 head of elk. There was some awesome encounters that will leave you wanting more! Congrats on your first elk Steve!

**Watch in HD for best viewing pleasure!**

Great video! Loved watching every minute of it. The scenery shots were great and really put the beauty of the land on display. That is one nice heard you guys stumbled on to. Love seeing safe shots taken and putting the animal down fast.

Curious to know the rifle setup used to take the cow.

Nice work guys! Seemed they they were hung up for quite a while at around 4-500 yards. Patience paid off as you literally ran outta stalking real estate. How far did that shot end up being?

Thanks for the compliments. Yes shot was 350 yards and was farther back, not sure what happened, but the animal was dispatched very quickly after. Happens to all of us and it's up to us hunters as our responsibility to put the animal down quickly and humanely, which we did. Steve sure loves his elk meat though!

Congrats, Way easier hunting them on the prairies and wouldn't have to burn up so many days doing it.

Nice video, thanks for posting.

I respect the fact you were out climbing hills and putting in the effort you did chasing elk. That's how I like to do it as well......not the easiest but if your the type that enjoys the chase just as much as the harvest the experience is second to none.

Yup I love exploring and chasing. The kill is a fraction of the big picture. There was lots of legal Bulls but just before we got to the point where we setup on them...a hunter came from the other side and shot at them and made the whole herd ball up. That was the coolest thing ever. I was trying to setup on a bull first to dump but after I knew I wasn't going to get the shot off, I told Steve to take a cow and I'll continue to film. I was hoping for 2 elk but only got one. It was truly second to none.! Maybe year 8 I can finally shoot my first bull rather then cows.

Who cares. Animal was dead in seconds. Mission accomplished. We've all had less than ideal shots.

I recognize that place. Was fortunate enough to grow up with ranchers in that area -probably walked those same quads trails years ago. Nice footage!

Good to see a group that size in real (footage) life again - I don't get the chance or haven't been lucky enough to see groups that size recently.

Nice shots Steve and congrats on having the friends you do that will lose the rifle and pick up the camera for your action.

Makes me want to go back there and hunt again. Really cool footage of the Moose and Mule Deer as well.

J.
