SPFGA - you guys have done an outstanding job!

260, if I lived out your way I'd join up in a New York minute.
And be there for the work parties.

Wondering if they have reached the cap yet for applications.

I do not have up-to-date numbers, but my best guess would be that applications are still being accepted. If the trend set prior to Xmas continued, the cap would be reached about early to mid Feb.

That looks like a nice range, it's just a shame that a person can't shoot before 9AM.

Yes it would be nice! but SPFGA is a good neighbour to the residents nearby...the range is open 364 days a year from what I understand and being able to have a range within 30mins from a major center it is a slight compromise...you can be there earlier to set up and get ready hangin targets etc., but can't shoot till then.

It is unfortunate, but you do what you have to to keep operating. I guess that I am just spoiled from having a range where I can come and go when I want, and can shoot at first light to avoid the crowds. Unfortunately, I will be looking for a new range myself in another year, and I am very aware that I will not find a range like the one that I am currently a member of, in Alberta. Hopefully SGFGA is still operational at that time.

I doubt the membership folks would call --- if your app is not returned within ten days ....I think it would be safe to assume you got in under the wire. The Club has not used the current processing system, so history to point us in the best direction. Every app is received by the volunteer Membership Chair, so the prospect of confirmation contacts would get pretty time consuming. I will post when the "last call" is near.
Elk, if you need a tour when you are in the area -- pm me.

Super nice range, thanks for posting the pics. It sure beats Spruce Grove.

Back to the top for a view of the Big Bore and Overflow Ranges to assist with perspective in the Muzzle Brake thread.

Pic of the sign at the Fish Pond today (May 09) when we restocked it with 125, foot long rainbows. Last year the cormorants ignored the requirement to release their catch, so this year we have added a bio/fish friendly dye to make it difficult for them to see the fish.

Bump for Brett. There have been some more improvements since the pics in this thread. Campsite expansion and the addition of a 50M Range.

An example of Campsite upgrades done in spring of 2015. Pics were taken during construction ... Now all grassed with fire pits in place.
