Texture Ceiling Question

And what product to use to patch a hole?

If your planning on burrying it and patching it so you can't tell it's there don't. You can't burry a electrical splice, it's against code. You need to use a decorative electical box cover. So the electrical can still be accessed.

Looks like knocked down ceiling to me, and I would use a light fixture.

Smoke detector or you can buy a cover for it. As stated it is against code to hide an electrical junction box.

I was going to hide that, I'll find something to go there smoke dectector or cover. I built an entertainment center and kinda in the way of the tv
