Don't know if you've purchased yet or not... definitely recommend trying them on versus buying online. Hard to get general stuff to fit for short guys like us. Simms and Patagonia may be the cat's *****, but are a whole other price point than what the OP is talking about. Redington makes some entry level stuff that is decent (not sure if they come in short sizes), as well as Orvis (Encounters do come in short, as that is what I have). Both can be had locally in Calgary.
Tough slogging these days for whites on the Crow. I haven't caught any for the last couple of years, though I haven't specifically targeted them.

Check Flies Etc in High River. They are on the way south and I got an inexpensive but good pair there last year.

Feet a bit big is OK. I only wear waders on the shoulder seasons when it's cold (just shorts in summer), so nice to have some room to wear double socks. Another pair of neoprene socks inside works well too. Just shouldn't be too big or sloppy (boots as well) or it will be hard to wade safely.

I'm on the Crow somewhere north of 10 and south of 20 times a year. Not typically this time of year though, so can't speak to how it may be fishing, ice shelves, etc.
