Default grouse hunting

I went out for grouse this morning and I got one grouse that was shot previously by someone with a pellet gun. It did not go into the breast even just under the skin, I thought it is illegal to use a pellet gun for hunting.

It's perfectly legal to hunt with a pellet gun and you can even hunt with a pellet pistol if it is under 500 FPS.
The problem however is one needs to use pointed pellets and be close

Sorry that was me. If it's by Rocky Mountain house, I had one ruffie fly off. But I did use the alloy pointed pellets.
