Thumbs up Finally about that time of year

Next week we could get temps into double digits which means fishing and lots of it. Time for all of us to get out and enjoy Alberta fishing, less arguing and more fishing.. finally.

Yup, it's gonna get slushy on the weekend around here. Better get the gummy boots out. What a weird winter.

I plan on sitting my butt on Cold Lake this weekend in a T Shirt and my Ray Bans on and get my first racoon eye suntan of the year. Their polarized so my eyes will be protected form the UV rays.

Can't wait to fish outside the tent in the sun.

I will be sure to avoid cold lake until Monday then, I will go chase jumbo goldfish on the weekend now.

Wonder how the ice is gonna hold up?

Of course im planning on testing it before I drive on, but is anyone else with some ice-driving experience driving out this weekend???

This might be the last weekend of safe ice?

Good idea to always check. It's still plenty thick/safe around here though. I think that we have a bit of ice fishing just yet. I'll be driving on Cold Lake this weekend and I am not overly concerned about it.

Even at Gull last weekend, the auger was allmost at max depth. Only another 10" or so left on the leg. Plenty of ice as there is only 3 more weekends left and the season is over.

Lots of safe ice around the Edmonton area...well over 2' and solid on Wab, and it should be that way for the remainder of the hardwater season

Haha yup! I've been out at least twice a week since early November
