Finally beat my skunk!
Ha! I finally pulled a fish out of that stupid river!
For those who haven't seen my posts, I'm slowly getting back into fishing but haven't gotten out much, and have only tried fishing the NSR so far due to time constraints.
Well tonight BBJ invited me to come along with him to try for some sturgeon. Within 10 minutes of getting our hooks in the water there was a sturgeon on the line! It wasn't my line...it was John's, but he passed it over and let me bring it in. Got it right up to shore, John was getting ready to grab it, and the bloody line snapped!
I did manage to catch a carp all on my own though
John also managed a little walleye (might have been a sauger?) and a big chunk of wooden lattice.
All in all I had a good time, and it felt great to FINALLY catch a fish after all these years! Many thanks to BIGBADJOHN for letting me tag along and I look forward to coming out with you again!

congrats
Good job on hooking the carp and the lattice. A great way to cook carp is on a piece of lattice, no really! Preheat the oven to 400, place the fillet's of carp on the lattice, let it cook for about 40 min, take it out scrape the carp off the lattice, and enjoy eating the lattice, trust me it's way better than the carp, and the lattice comes with it's own tooth pics! Just a lil fishen humor, sorry!
