If you look on the box Barnes says to use in 1 in 10 twist or faster barrels. I have never been able to get them to shoot worth a hoot, even in a 1 in 9 223 barrel that shoots pretty much anything else up to 80 grains like a hot damn.
Most 22-250s are 1/12 or 1/14 and mine won't stabilize the Barnes 50s either even when hopped up to max velocity. The slower twist is too slow to stabilize that long a bullet. The 36s will stabilize fine but have a lousy BC so aren't much good at the long distances a 22-250 is usally bought for. Try the 50 or 55 grain Sierra BlitzKings and the Hornady 55 SPSX (specially designed for the speed of the 22-250, the 50 grain SPSX needs to be kept under 3500 FPS). My all round favorite for great terminal effect, excellent accurracy and pelt friendly no exits on coyotes, and the least expensive is the SPSX. All of those three choices have an explosive effect on small targets. For less destruction, the 68 grain BTHP or A-maxs. They all shoot great out of any of my .224 bore variations.
The Barnes 36s work good in the odd gun but are very picky to develop a load for, suffer from wind drift and don't in my opinion have anywhere near the explosive effect of the much lower priced SPSX or the equally priced V-Maxs and Blitzkings. For a high priced premium bullet this is not one of Barnes better efforts and certainly doesn't rank with the very high opinion I have of their TSX and MRX bullets. Best of luck and Merry Christmas.
