55 gr Nosler BT's at 4k are the ticket and the "bomb".

How are they on fur. With my 22-250 use the same grain but slowed it down and is really easy on furs.

80 gr, FMJ's, unless you hit major bone you pencil in and pencil out.

But be fully aware that when you see not one but two or maybe 3 skips from the bullet richochetting accros the prairie, there is a down side.

55 gr or 60 gr bullets are good but many of the slow twist (for heavy bullets) 243's don't provide that outstanding of accuracy because quite frankly the stubby little pills simply over stabilize.

The only way to know for sure is to try them out, cause with rifles you just never know.

I never had one exit. That is not saying they won't but I never had one. In my factory barreled Remington they were honest 1/2 MOA shooters.

Fella I used to hunt with used a 243 with those bullets for the longer shots on coyotes that figured they were out of effective range of our pea-shooter .222's
when we were calling them in close.
BIG mistake for the coyotes that stopped to look back at 400+ and thumb their noses at that rifle!!
never did use it inside 200.....

Never heard of over stabilizing, is 1-9 considered a slow twist for the 243? Berger bullets have an interesting video on you tube with pitch vs yaw, seen it a while back. We are using 60 gr seirras, loaded with mid load velocitys, good accuracy and pelt cond. shoots well in a rem and a savage.

65 gr Hornady V-Max @3600 fps. Works well in my .243 on Yotes. No exits and knocks em down hard!

55 or the 95gr BST in the Winchetser Supreme ammo.

Shoot the 95gr and your good to go all season.

In my Sako m75ss 243, the factory Winchester Supreme BST's in both 55 and 95gr shot idential at 100m and 200m

Reloads I use 95gr BST's for my predators. Thats all I use my 243 for right now. When my boys are older, it will be their deer rifle...at leastthats what I told my wife before our first child..
