Default BCL-102 vs ATRS modern hunter

Hey guys,
I've got an option to purchase a new BCL-102, I've been tossing around purchasing one of these two rifles as I'm sick of playing with my toys at ranges only.... I don't want a Restricted

The BCL-102 is about $1000 less, some say it doesn't shoot as well as the ATRS.

Thoughts, pros and cons of each?

Some will say "You get what you pay for.", implying the more expensive your rifle the better the quality.

Some will say "Either rifle can shoot better than I can.", possibly implying they aren't Pro shooters who require Match accuracy.

Any way you slice it, in the end you're the one who has to pay for it & use it... "To each their own", I say !

If you're "playing with a toy", I'd likely go the cheaper option and spend some of the $1,000 on personal modifications.

SFRC is having a presale right now. Not sure if any are left.

I have a BCL coming Friday. I hope this second batch doesn’t have the QC issues the first batch had under NEA.

I would go BCL over the MH, on CGN mystic precision does a comparison between the two.
They both seem to have roughly the same accuracy, but I'd love to see what the BCL could do with a match barrel.

Yeah and if you're worried about the BCL BCG then change it. Much much easier to change parts on the BCL than the MH. I owned a MH and sold it, wasn't a fan of having to use only certain mags, hardly any aftermarket support. I lol'd at their fix for the charge handle. "Hey you just paid $3500+ but we will stick a magnet to your charge handle to "fix" a problem".

I should add, that the BCL will be like a lego kit for grown ups. Tons of aftermarket support as most parts are DPMS pattern. I believe the hand guard is Armalite.

I will be putting a triggertech AR15 trigger in mine, taking off the brake and putting a A2 flash hider on, and going with an adjustable gas block right off the hop.

There's at least 6 new ones for sale on CGN and the Ammo Source has some.

Finally bought a BCL 102 under the IOP. I'll see how it shoots as I'd like to use it for hunting.

Mine showed up yesterday. BCG has good machining compared to the first Gen. has ribgs shouldn’t be an issue.

Nice rifle ! Can't wait to hear a range report, especially with different brands/weights of *ammo.

* hopefully 1 of them is either Hornady Varmint Xpress 40gr Vmax, or Federal Premium 40gr Nosler Ballistic Tip.

It’s a .308

I’ll be using 168gr as that what others have seem to found is the best for this barrel.

Might try some 150, 165 and 180’s later on.

From my understanding it takes any mag that will fit in an AR-10 except for DPMS metal mags.

Only 308. But I'm thinking of having a 7mm08 barrel made for one... if it can be done and when I get mine.
