Sako 85 Floating Recoil Plate

I'm thinking of bedding a Sako 85 and was wondering if anyone here has removed the floating recoil plate from the stock and installed a Tikka recoil lug instead?

The Sako 85 receiver is still built to take one and it seems that it would create a simpler and stronger platform to bed and shoot from.
