Just had to get the Cam phasers, high pressure fuel pump and pcv replaced on my 2018 F150 with 43,000km on it. Hope it continues to drive good now. Not sure when I’m done with this truck what I would go with.

I’m thinking of a tundra again. Had a 2007 tundra and wasn’t impressed. I hope they change the body design and interior on them, one of the ugliest trucks out there right now. By the time I’m ready to trade they should have the new model out

Do you think it has anything to do with that fact that the F Series outsold the Tundra 16.5:1 in Canada last year? Not alot of threads for guys looking for BMW or Audi mechanics either.....

Beat me to it. Go for a drive around town? Where are all the Toyota’s? I see way more Fords. Are the Toyota’s all broke down? Must be so.......

What about the new Silverado...the Trail Boss looks like a very sweet ride.

Not a lot of Toyota people looking for help or advice either last time I checked.
The ford guys on here are hilarious....Ford is the best blah blah blah.
I do enjoy the almost weekly new threads about advice or "what could be wrong with my truck"
I will be honest though, I may have to start a new thread about a problem with my Tacoma.
After 6 years and 140k, something on my Taco finally broke.

Another issue...
Went to pull out to pass a car and heard a muffled sounding back fire and now no turbos and funny sounding engine. I can’t win with trucks lol

That is why I prefer simple engines, no turbos , no superchargers, and no cylinder deactivation. Less parts, less to go wrong.

That 16.5 to 1 is all f series trucks F150s to F450's so your ratio is way off.
I have a North American diesel myself because I need to pull larger weights daily.
Toyota sells 200,000 autos in canada each year.
Ford sells 300,000 autos in Canada each year.
For North American total sales are much closer than above.
I could not find any stats on just the f150 for sales in canada
In Canada and the USA combined Ford F series is about
950,000 including F-150, 250, 350 and 450's
Canada and the USA combined Toyota sells 125,000- just Tundra's
In North America it looks to be closer to 1 in 7.5 and that is including every Ford Truck up to but not including the F550's.
Now go find those broken Tundra threads....

My ratio isn't way off as I clearly said F Series. Ford sold 145,694 F Series in Canada last year while Toyota sold 8,843 Tundras. 145,694/8,843 = 16.5. You likely won't find F150 stats as Ford doesn't separate the F Series lineup. If it helps your cause, sure, but I don't really care how many Tundra's sold in a different country. And it would seem you missed my subtle point.

The same reason you do not see people talking about Baojun trucks being in the repair shop.
The sheer numbers of them on the road. What do you see, 100 Fords for every Toyota?
What is the comparison of domestic sales between the 2 companies?
Ford had sold more pickups at one time than ALL the others combined.
I frankly could not possibly care less who buys what, I drive what I think is the best for me, and the only thing worse than the fanboys are the antifanboys.

Anyone that would argue an F-150's probable reliability record vs a Toyota Tundra knows more than Consumer Reports, True Delta, and US News, and has lost touch with reality. I have also never owned a Tundra but have had multiple F-150s, so have no horse in this game.

That's okay, Ken, I'll still use IncrediGirl's Tundra to rescue you if necessary... Just because... Well, friends and all that...

Ford ruined their reputation with the 5.4, 6.0, 6.4 engines. They definately had countless issues in the years.

I had a 3 Ford pick ups with the 300-6cyl and I could not have been happier with the whole set up. Next to nothing for options but never had a problem that wasn't solved easily. My favourite trucks are the 70's style Ford's as I think they look great and represent Fords Glory years. The 6.7 diesels do appear to be working out great for Ford.

I had a Tundra for a work truck many years ago. It was ok, but it sure liked gas and felt very loose on gravel roads. That's all I remember.
I drive Fords now that I pay for my own.

We just got home from a trip down the Alaskan Peninsula. Went all the way down to Homer. They must have some good Toyota dealer there because there were a lot of Toyota trucks on the road. I do know they hold resale value better than most

I like Toyotas and I believe they are in general far more reliable than domestics but I wouldn't use the ultra rare million miler as proof of that. I think the tens of thousands of Toyotas running all over the world and in some of the harshest environments on earth are a better gauge.
To me the choice between an F150 and a Toyota would be no choice at all. The Toyota would be the clear winner.
