Thumbs up golf balls....

off topic but hey we all can enjoy a laugh.....was watching moose meat and marmalade on the APTN channel...luv this cookin' show....so the native chef says to the english chef "why do golf balls get lost in the woods?" ...English chef pauses and says "I don't know"...native chef replies "because the are white"..... well I spit my water out my mouth....started choking...coughing...showing signs of the virus...wife runs in asking me if I was all right.....cleared my throat and said...yup!

if you get a chance watch this show...very entertaining.

One negative interaction with a person can erase years of positive interaction. People say forgive and forget, but that is not human nature or the majority I feel.

Ive been a great neighbour and have had a great neighbour for 5 years. The kids and I were needing fresh air and where out and about and long story short our neighbour threatened to call the police on use because we were out of our house. Blows my mind to this day after we had such a strong relationship. I will never have the same relationship with them again.

For those saying stay away from our town or putting down city folk or BC folk or Albertan folk etc, remember how you present yourselves. I think restrictions make sense, but when you turn it into a me vs them or try and take some mighty reign, it could back fire. The towns that keep on coming up rely on tourists. When this all settles down and your economies are in taters, I think the towns will be singing a different tune and will be trying their best to bring back those people that are so vital to their economy. I for one would have second thoughts on where I would spend my vacations or where to fish. After reading this thread.

I think social distancing makes sense. I dont think crazy isolation does. Regardless what you think is best, turning it into one vs the other or being on the high horse or the covid vigilante will not be forgotten. All things pass and when its over how will you or your town be remembered?

In a press conference a few days ago Dr. Hinshaw clarified the health orders.

The quarantines for travellers and sick/suspected are enforceable. The 2m is not.

Best friend is an RCMP here in Sherwood Park. They pulled a vehicle over during a routine traffic stop. 3 young 20 something girls in the car. All had separate home addresses on their id’s. 1000.00 ticket each for not social distancing...

I definitely pooched it with the FDR quote.
I was in such a hurry to get going that I didn't think it through before posting that one. Sure is peaceful driving on almost empty roads. Although it would be nice if even more people stayed home, I'm glad the gophers are out.

bottom line is that people are going to squabble so don't get wrapped up in it...it really is that easy....

I also know that what is typed can be taken wrong depending on how the person(s) interpreted it....

I was talking to my mother the other day, and she mentioned that she was running low on some supplies, and that one of her prescriptions is expiring at the end of the month and she will need to go to the doctor to get a new one. She does not drive or have a computer, and she lives alone, so without getting into a vehicle with people that live at other addresses, how is she supposed to get to the doctor, and to buy her supplies?

PS
I bet Jamie is one of the ..... i have met running a shadow charter business one of the guys we see show up with a different crew every week and a pickup with a freezer in the back to run the fish and out going crew back to Alberta
I agree on most of this, it is brutal. Also, I have met some awesome people out there, from BS, AB, SK, the States, on yachts and in tin boats and everything in between. Have had some real good chats with boat guys.

I am not sure what you mean about a 'shadow charter business' though, meant shady or what? Is shadow a term?

As for the freezer in the back of the truck, that would be great but everything I ever caught went into a cooler with sea ice after being flash frozen and vacuum packed by Rupert Meats.

7 forum members and I fished Jamies Lodge in 2013 and again in 2014, and I can tell you it was incredible, professional guides, (Shea is awesome) and we drove our own trucks back and forth, there was no truck taxi with a freezer, although Chris may have preferred that. (right, crash?)

so my question, what do you mean by shadow guides running back and forth to Alberta, and how does that make them ....'s?

I have foolishly taken a couple breaks from my lifting regime about the same length as your break. Its never easy to get back into the routine after that for sure..:

I think the officer had to use discretion in regards to this. I’m pretty sure these young 20 year olds didn’t have a good or constructive reason for being together in that car at that time..

Over the phone appointment, apps like Maple can facilitate prescriptions being mailed out.
Start will calling the doctor and go from there.

My wife just filled her prescription by talking to her doctor over the phone. The doctor faxed the prescription to the pharmacy and they delivered it to our door. The same services may be available wherever your mother lives.

Grocery stores here are delivering as well.

That would likely work for the medication, but without a computer or smart phone, it isn't easy to order groceries for delivery. I don't see the stores in her area willing to take the time to do orders over the phone either. This crisis is definitely more of an issue for seniors.

Interesting, absolutely benign, but too funny.

I hope everyone's mom is ok

Given the situation the doctor will most likely issue a new subscription over the phone and fax it to the pharmacy. Or the pharmacist can authorize a refill even on an expired prescription. Then anyone can pick-up the prescription for her or some places are even arranging deliveries.

I just ordered some stuff for my monster-inlaw on amazon. Changed the delivery address and the items will go directly to her in Manitoba.
