Leadership for the Oilers is probably in the same place as the vaunted Flames leadership that has won them exactly what again? Pretty sad when the fans of the team are happy with continual 12 or 13th overall place finishes.

Those two goals on Dubby were just brutal! I've never seen him play that bad before.

Sooooooooo

Is Edmonton trying to get another first overall pick? I would have thought that 3 in a row would have at LEAST made them a Playoff team.

Interesting side note the only other team that had 3 First overall picks was the Quebec Nordiques. They couldnt do anything as well. In fact they had to move the team.

Kudos for the Flames by not giving up on the season unlike Colorado who just got called out by their GT.
That shows promise for the future. Not much, but I will take what I can get.

So the draft picks were why they moved?
The team was in trouble in Quebec, didn't matter if it was a good team or bad one.
Seems those draft picks worked out pretty well for them in Colorado.
Calgary won't see playoffs for a few years,Edmonton won't either without a talented supporting cast for the young guys....starting with a goaltender.
Edmonton has a lot of holes to fill, hopefully they make changes at the top first.

Yep now you know how I felt when the canuckleheads loose in game seven. Luongo and Al Vigneault are still kicking around like a bad cancer!

Default whats wrong with the Oilers?

yes i know the obvious, every body from Calgary and Van hate them...
think beyond that...
I think if they would trade Nail for something, somebody alot of their problems would be solved.....
I think there is a serious case of bad chemistry with him and the other fab four,
just my thoughts, what are yours??

I would say,as a non-fan, Kevin Lowe needs to be replaced.

It seems to be working great. Only down 3-1.
Am I destined to a life of misery? This is painful.

Don't fret, all they need is one of this years top three draft picks. Patience.....
In all seriousness, have you ever seen such a non emotional head coach in your life? The other night when that goal was called back, Krueger didn't even bat an eye lash. He's a dead fish behind there.

Oh oh. Brodziak just scored. Say who did he used to play for?

The problem was there way before yakupov came on the scene. I wouldn't exactly call them the fab four either.

The problem is ,when you have to many go to guys , and not enough support staff. Combine that with no goalie and no puck moving elite dman. You get what the oilers have. You need complete teams like LA , Boston and st.Louis to have a cup contending team. But instead the oilers believe their one line plus one dman can do what teams like Pittsburgh can do. But unfortunately the oilers four are now where near that talented to carry a team, without support and role players....

Like the flames , the oilers need to clean out all the suits and paper pushers..

Nail is big and tough with a feisty side he needs a coach. I think he will be better than any Oiler yet. Hopkins has the feisty ness of a bunny. But Gagner is the guy who really gets me frustrated to small to mellow.

Oilers have given up...big surprise.
Big changes need to be made...too many
Lowe gone
Krueger gone....I can't imagine Lindy Ruff sitting behind that bench and just taking how the team has played.
I'm not sure Ruff would have Smyth out on ice in last minutes of game with goalie pulled either.
Player moves....well where to start.
Personally there are NO untouchables left on this team but Hall and Yakupov would be the closest for me.At least they show up ,throw a few hits, and are actually noticed on the ice.
Yakupov has played 3rd or 4th line most of year...you expect performance out of him from there?
Paarvan has shown he can score and grit it out in front of net a bit.
RNH well just a big disappointment.
Probably get rid of most of veterans and be no worse off.
Defense,goaltending......yeesh
McTavish is supposed to be a very smart guy,I wonder how smart he can actually be taking the GM job

Looking at last nights game. its only a matter of time when it clicks, but to me I can not handle the lack luster effort of J,(shoot away at my goalie) Shultz. and he played over 25 min, and as a Defenceman hat ZERO HITS, and a cool minus 3 on the night.Needs time in miniors

Yeah, he chaps me too. He has the skill as an offensive D-man, but lacks defensive skills. If we are talking about shipping out a young gun, I'd pick him.

Don't know who LA's backup is but I have a sneaking suspicion we'll be seeing him soon.

It's Jonathan Bernier and I doubt you'll see him soon.
They won't want to embarrass Quick at this point. And he is no slouch. They'll wait until it's absolutely necessary.

Nope. Was just thinking another goal and out he'd come. Looks like they settled down a bit.

Would kind of like seeing this series go longer. Good hockey.
