Default Cold Lake Lakers Pre Cold Front

First of all thanks for all the support here!

Well here is a video of some laker fishing before the cold front hit. They weren't as aggressive as the days prior and kept coming up short. Downsizing and bait was key to success during this one as I needed every advantage I could to hook up to these trout! As always feedback is greatly appreciated. Check it out for yourself below

Interesting video watching the lakers chase. Fishing Spray it seems they want a dead bait hanging still presentation.

It's weird how things can change. I had an I fish pro set a little shallower with a anchovy on it and nothing touched it. Usually, you can pick up a few bonus fish like this but hasn't happened yet this year. Manitoba I think 80% of our fish came on the bottom with dead bait.

Cool clip

I don’t think I have caught a single laker on a dead stick. A very short 4-6inch jigging motion so I have a non stop flutter has been my most productive by far. Mind you I only ice fished Lakers on a handful of lakes in Alberta and BC. I would much rather fish open water

That’s how we fish Athap , and have had great success on cold doing basically the same thing but first trip out this year was not the case. Generally fish a bigger piece of sucker but had to shorten it up to even get a touch, I think you were just north west of my sons and I that Sunday. Red quad down past garnet
