Default Dabblers

Anybody ever try Irish dabblers on our waters? I'm starting to tie a few. Even if they're meant for stillwater, I think they might work well on streams fished as wets or nymphs as our fish likely haven't seen them before.

They look fishy, I bet they'd really work swung like a wet fly in a stream

Careys Special's will sink nice and deep as they are lightly hacked, whereas flies like Dabblers that are heavily hackled are better suited to a closer to the surface presentation and will sink more slowly, because of their bulk. Dabblers swing poorly and are really meant for a still water presentation.
