Default Exodus Box Problems

I have an Exodus box that's driving me crazy
It buffers almost as much as it plays , I was told my internet wasn't fast enough so I had telus come on Saturday to upgrade the internet (fastest available in my area) seem almost worse then before ...
Why is it buffering all the time? Is there something that can be done? Is there background programs slowing it down? Do I have a bad box?
I'm very lucky to get 5-10min of play time without buffering

Any idea?

If you are still using exodus.... Stop. Exodus is ran by TVADDONS which was shut down so there are no updates rolling out.

Elysium is the addon i have switched to. not run like a big developer like TV addons. Looks and feels exactly like Exodus. but in my experience actually is better. Seems quicker. While searching for streams reports number of 1080p/720P/SD feeds it founds and you can just stop once is shows it found an HD.

do you have a way for someone to remote access the box? If so there is a guy near edmonton that you can pay to get it up and running on his custom software.

My one box is buffering non stop as well so im off to see him tonight.

We just hooked up the PC to the TV and we run it all from there, nice and easy to update too.

I was having similar issues, read about Exodus not being supported anymore so I installed Covenant (made by the same guys who used to support Exodus). Back to having lots of HD streams with no buffering issues (at least not since Sunday when I installed it but tomorrow is another day!).
I did have issues trying the repo links for Covenant (kept coming up blank), ended up using Ares (I think that's what it was called), which is an app for downloading other apps.
My box (pi3) is running OSMC Kodi 17 - there is an option in the settings that shows how much memory is in use and what percentage each of the 4 cores are running at. Also has option to check for updates.
If you're on Kodi 17 already, assuming you're hardwired to the internet, then your issues are probably due to exodus

Covenant working well for me too. We have only streamed a few shows on it as we got on to Elysium and has been working really well. Only thing I don't like on Elysium is Trakt doesn't work fully on it so a little harder to keep a watch on shows until you get almost to the last step then they show up.

Given that 14.1 is over 2 1/2 years old I think its safe to say you are due for an update... there have been a lot of improvements since then.

Heres the Kodi forum... maybe some answers there

I did this as well. way easier. problem is the people that sell the boxes make you think you need the box to run everything

Dollars to doughnuts your cache is full and needs to be deleted. I ran into the same issues and couldn't figure them out when someone showed me in my maintenance section where you can clear your cache. Takes just a second and boom! It all started working perfectly again. Now whenever things start lagging, first thing I do is clear the cache and all is good again...

4.2.2 can not be upgraded to kodi 17.
Needs to be 4.4.2 or newer.
You'll need a new box or as suggested by Lefty load the updated version of kodi 17.3 on you computer , add a kodi build and hook it up to your tv and your good to go.
Go onto You Tube to see how it's done.
Good luck.

Grab a raspberry pi 3 from memory express. Sale price is $70 or reg $90. That's less than a good night out!

From the reading i've done I think I can update the MX2 G Box to have 4.4.2

Or am I confused and that can't be done?

If there is a firmware update for your box and your able to locate it give it a try,
Some TV box manufactures do not release updates.
Not hard to figure out why.
Good luck.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Keep in mind that if you reach the max in upgrade you can still use one of the earlier versions that is compatible with your version of Android. May not be the latest but from my experience they work fine. I have done several slightly older tablets for people this method. Better than none at all.

I downloaded Elysium (finally got it to download) my problem is, when I click a movie or a show nothing happens.... It says something like "searching" but no sources or anything pops up... with Exodus a box would pop up and I would click a source then it would stream.
What am I missing?
