Default Uploading pictures to photobucket to post on AO Forum now $399

Photobucket changed their terms of service, if you want to share pictures uploaded there on external sites like AO Forum, that service now costs $399/year. Otherwise the post will only show a graphic telling you to go on the photobucket site in order to see it. That includes all images uploaded there until now and already affects every image shared from photobucket so far.
So in case you are wondering why you don't see your photobucket images here, it'll cost you now:

http://photobucket.com/terms

if you want to share images here, it's time to look for an alternative.

I would suggest flickr.com , free to use and no limits. More flexibility on image sizes and links to albums.

Maybe you are misunderstanding something? Or maybe I am, still works for me.

Hi Piker, Did your Springer come from Breezy Point Kennels by any chance?
I had a pup from them some years ago. One of the smartest dogs I have ever owned. And boy what a pheasant flusher he was. Both are beautiful dogs. Phil.

The mother of Ellie is a Breezy dog, the father was a British dog. The breeder was Sid, son of the Breezy Kennel owner. Thanks for the complement on the dogs, I love them both dearly.

It already happened to lots of users, pretty sure it'll be a matter of days until all accounts have been updated.
Nice dogs, is the left one a Deutsch-Drahthaar? My uncle in Germany breeds them, great dogs

I've dodged the bullet so far, but have been trying all day to access the site to download my pics.
It's a mess . Looks like they are experiencing tech difficulties. Likely from a bunch of folks trying to do the same thing.

It took me a bit of experimenting to get larger pics uploaded on flicker.com but it takes 1 second to upload vs waiting & waiting and deleting all those ad's on Photobucket to upload before you can copy & paste.

See ...

I never liked it. Too slow, too cumbersome to much of a PIA. I've used Imgur.com for years.

Yup

Seems to be a few options out there.
First I tried Google images. Couldn't post on forums (or at least I couldn't figure it out ?).

I have IMGUR figured out though..... I think ?

As a photographer I've never trusted any of these services.
They can go out of business...they can change their rules...too much to chance.
All my images are duplicated on two separate hard drives in case one has a catastrophic failure.

Ok I signed up to Flicker. How do I get the photos on this site? I don't just want a link to the flicker site, but want the photo to show up when someone opens a thread on this site.

After a few years I finally gave up on PhotoBucket, too frustrating with all the ads. Found Goole Photos to be way, way better. Bit of a trick to posting links to photos or albums, but once you do it is a breeze and very fast.

Arrow AOF 'Pictures & Albums' page !

.
For most of my picture posting on the AOF, I just upload to the 'Pictures & Albums' page in my AOF Control Panel (User CP),
and then link from there to my posts. My sig below is a good example.

It's quick and easy ... no muss, no fuss!

I think the issue with uploading pictures directly to A/O is simply a matter of re-sizing your photos. Reduce their size to 800x640 in Windows Photo Gallery, or whatever software you use, and they upload to A/O very easily.
Not sure how they upload from a C-phone.

Fixed it ^

On a forum, there is no need to post a picture any larger.

Except it's a pain to resize if on an Android phone or Chrome. It used to be simple, and I find imgur.com is. Photobucket was always to slow, and too complex to work smoothly, at least for me.
