Default Banff

Evening gents. A buddy and I are taking our wives to Banff for the July long weekend. Was wondering if anyone has had success fishing around Banff. We don't have a boat, so I'm assuming Minnewanka is out of the question. Been poking around the fishing guide looking for places we could do a hike in lake for some trout. Anyone have any general pointers they could give? Cheers.

Sorry, don't have any fishing advice for you.
But I hope you realize what you'll be dealing with there at that time...

Haha crowds like we've never seen. I've been on crown land for the Nov. 1 rifle opener. This should be a breeze by comparison

How far of hike are you willing to do?

Taylor Lake used to be fairly decent fishery for cutthroat. Haven't been there in some time though.

If I recall, its about a 6.5km hike from trailhead. It is near Castle Junction.

You will need a national parks fishing license.

Well......most hunters know how to drive. Can't say that for most of the tourists

A 6km hike would be very doable. Thanks for the help! As for the tourists driving.... Nah, I'll keep quiet.

With the exception of Minnewanka it's all C&R this year, and Cutties have been C&R in the park for several years.
