Default Question from Kid buying a used bow

Offered to buy a guys bow, but not sure if worth it......... Its a Hoyt Havotec(sp) XT2000 maybe? Has 6 arrows, 3 heads and all set up for me. Thinks it's about 10-12 years old? Can't find anything about them as they no longer make. Curious if a good bow for hunting, still a beginner here. He asking for 400

Thanks in advance

I would look at purchasing a beginner package bow rather than buying a 12 year old bow, it would be good for a boat anchor though

Great bow. Bought the first one in Canada, back in 2000 I think. Just upgraded this winter. The price seems a bit high but probably ball park.

That seems quite high for a 12 year old bow. On Archery talk forum there are all sorts of bows and 4 year old bows go for cheaper.

$400 is an outrageous price for a 10+ year old bow, even if it was brand new in box.

Bows depreciate like Dodge dually trucks....

You can get new/old stock bows, brand new in the box for $4-500 if you shop smart. I'd look around, and make sure what you get fits you. That is the most important thing.

400 for a used bow 12 years old is completely out to lunch

The above bow is ready to shoot for under 300$

That depends what accessories are installed on bow [and age]...doesnt take much to add $400.00 worth of accessories on bow such as rest, sight, arrows, broadheads, case, quiver, etc...

A new 400.00 bow will likely cost you double that with accessories
however the new bow will likely have a lifetime warrenty...sometimes thats worth $400.00 itself
