Percentage of mange in your area?
I see a lot of guys posting about quite a few coyotes with mange. I have never caught one with bald/black skin. Only a couple with pink bellies which I am told is the start of the disease. I trap in the SW corner of the province. Just curious of the rough percentage of mange in other areas.

I'd say 10 % is close here as well , Seems as tho we used to see them more as winter progressed and not as many early ones as this year . Overpopulation perhaps ?

0 mange and 1 which was lousy out of 43 coyotes. Last year out of twelve I had 3 with mange.
I've seen some fully furred pink bellies but my understanding is that this is caused by something in their saliva.

We are at about 25% this year, north of Edmonton (severe pink bellies). This is much higher than usual but is about the same as 4 years ago.

Mangy wolf
Caught two wolves like this last year . Saw one still around during the summer hope to remove him this winter. Went quite a few years without much of an infestation on larger canids , foxes in our area have always been affected.

percentage
Out of 49 coyotes so far this year, 6 have had mange, not severe, but they were fairly open. Was worst last year, and much worst the year before.

First one in 31 and he was sick. Lower jaw was shot off to boot. Too stupid to post pics.
