Default 22LR Braek in?

Because 22LR bullets are not jacketed, I have never followed any break in procedure for them. Like to know if others have a different opinion.

Also, in your experience, do 22LR rifles settle down and shoot better/more consistent after 100-200 rounds?

Like to hear your 0.2 cents.

I clean the barrel, and then shoot the rifle. Anschutz was recommending cleaning the barrel after the initial 1000 rounds, and then every 5000 rounds. I never found that the accuracy changed noticeably from new.

breaking in a 22 barrel is a bit of a question mark, it really depends on the finish of the bore. a 22 cartridge does not generate enough pressure or heat to damage the bore or leave lead deposits. most rimfire barrels are ruined by corrosion or excessive cleaning, and my best rifles rarely get a rod down the bore, since they have nice bright smooth lands and grooves. I only shoot standard vel lubricated ammo through the high end rifles and bulk pack plated ammo through my fun guns. all of them are fun for different reasons.
