Princess Auto Product Review
Was ask to answer by Princess Auto to comment on the 11lb sausage press that a consumer wanted to buy.
so I did.Quote from me...Is a great press till you need parts then ,,,,good luck , for over a year, they have tried to get me a plunger ring..still waiting
They sent me a email back and it did not meet their standards , as it was negative, I sent them a email back saying, you asked, and I told you the truth, why do you as a company deny, what a consumer has to say about the product , if II gave it a five STAR rating you would publish it, also gave them my name and phone number to contact me....NO REPLY

A good rule of thumb is 95% of what PA sells is absolute garbage quality.
Ya get what ya pay for and at PA ya don't pay much..

Take the plunger to farmland supply centre and get them to fit it for a ring or order one for you.

Never buy power tools or anything battery operated from PA.
They have a ton of great products at a great price but a lot of garbage also.
If something is stupidly low priced there's a reason for it.
On the other hand, they have a great return policy. You don't even need a receipt if they have your Phone number in their system.

My dad owns a mechanic shop and he likes their tools, they sometimes break but he treats it like Snap-On, it breaks he just returns it.
Their air tools aren't so bad either. I like princess auto for many things, bought a rapala auger for $129.99 on sale and a 4 person Rap Shack for $79.99. Oh and boat seats and walnut blasting kit for my car. It ain't so bad.

Not an uncommon practice for companies to filter the reviews on their site.
As for the new plunger O-Ring. Hi-Tech Seals Inc. ( http://www.hitechseals.com) in Edmonton can definitely sort out a new seal for it. Will get your press back up and running.

My rule of thumb for places like Princess Auto is, that it is a once use only purchase, it needs to be cheap enough I don't mind tossing it after using it.
That is usually about how long their stuff lasts. Most of the time it'll get that one job done before it is toast. Occasionally it will last for two uses. Kinda have to remember that they are the original Canadian "dollar store", along with the Army & Navy. They have plenty of OK stuff there, but there is lots that really isn't a bargain.

I guess it depends on how much you use something and how much you will rely on it not failing.
I need line wrenches (for the transmission lines), the boxed in ones.
But I did know whether the meteric or standard would work.
Plus I needed two of each one.
The Canadian Tire ones were $32 a set times 4.
The PA ones were $6 a set times 4.
There is a noticeable quality difference, but as I don't make a living with wrenches and the PA would be fit the bill for the few times I need them the cost savings is definitely worth it. Plus if I needed to heat and bend these PA wrenches to get into the tight spot, it wouldn't be that big a loss.

Princess auto is also good for branded stuff that isnt from their line as the buddy heaters when they go on sale, or the hunting stuff from mossy oak and such. They had Bradley smokers on sale for I think $399 and other places had it for close to $500.

Canadian Tire ain't much better these days. Tool quality on a par with PA and I've returned a couple of items cause they just didn't do the job they were supposed to. it all comes from China.

If you're buying Mastercraft tools from CT they are not made in china. They're made in Taiwan. Big difference in quality. They also have a lifetime guaranty.
I'm talking about hand tools though. Not power tools or anything else they sell.
Their hand tools are excellent quality.

My drill just died, I will either buy your drill or sell you my charger and batteries, if you still have IT.

Yes, I've found Mastercraft to be the equal of the Sears Craftsment and the warranty is just as good.

They keep a record going back 2 years on purchases. Even if it's beyond 2 years they kow it is theirs and will swap you out a new one no problem. Don't try the parts angle. I tried it and they gave me the option to swap out an old 5 ton wood splitter right on the spot

I was going to say.... Hi-tech. We deal with them a lot. Except it's not an o-ring, it's a lip seal.
I tried ordering one from PA for the exact same stuffer when I ordered spare gears, 8 weeks for the seal.
Threeforthree, you're down south aren't you? I was going to go to Hi-tech in the next day or 2, I'll grab an extra couple and ship them to you for nothing, just PM me with where you'd like them shipped.

If possible, would you consider posting the part # for that lip seal once you have it in hand?
Would be muchly appreciated.
