Default Topwater Pike Fishing - Pine Lake, Alberta

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LPGTPhExvI

I only got to spend a little over an hour on the water this past Sunday. But there was hardly a single moment of downtime as the Pike destroyed my topwater popper. The fish might not of been the biggest, but it would be hard to top the hour I spent fishing with my Dad.
Whats you're favorite lure to catch topwater Pike or other fish on? I was using this Yozuri popper and trying to walk it across the top. http://amzn.to/2s9hTjN

We often use the spinners, either single or double, that spray the water to get their attention. Usually we use bucktails with a twister tail also. Lots of fun for sure.

I use topwater a lot in Manitoba for smallies and pike. Matzuo poppers and Rapala X-Pop are DEADLY....

Thanks SNAP, Moose and 338. And I'll keep my eye out for those lures you guys mentioned.
I'm going to hit up Sylvan or Gull tomorrow to hook into a couple fish (fingers crossed) and hopefully make another video. Any chance you could help point me in the right direction as my experience on those lakes is rather limited?

Yeah, I've used the Hula and the Rebel poppers with great success. I caught my biggest pike to date on a Rebel popper. Another topwater I really like is the jitterbug, I find that I often have less missed strikes on a Jitterbug than with a more erratic topwater.

These days I don't fish actual top waters very much any more. You can fish a large diver like a popper, and if a fish misses you can pull it under and generally get another strike that wont miss. As well as divers I buzz spinnerbaits and skitter spoons on the top, same thing if you get a missed strike let it go under and you can generally get the fish.
