Default What art style of fly do you prefer?

Which art style reflects the flies that you tie and fish with, and the philosophy behind that fly? Tell us why you prefer that particular fly?

Abstract? Impressionistic?......Painterly?

Below is a little help for you to know what I mean.

After reading the above you will be able to converse with arts type people of what your hobby is.

I prefer my flies to be realistic, with a hint of impressionistic abstractness to them...

What ever the fish are biting on!!! I use all different styles, a lot depends on the specific water. I have a couple places where realism is the ticket and then others where the fish are less picky about the flies, but I do love being able to use a little artistic licence when I can.

I'd go for "Impressionism". I'm not enough of a entomologist to truly practice "realism". I want a fly that "sorta looks like" a number of different things fish might want to eat.
